With more than 25 years of experience in the music industry, Awi Rafael has established himself as a multifaceted talent—spanning roles as a music producer, artiste, vocal instructor, and artiste manager. He has achieved significant milestones, including earning 1 Triple Platinum and 3 Double Platinum certifications for his work. His music has garnered critical acclaim, winning him 3 Best Artiste, 5 Best Song, and 2 Best Album awards across the region.
Awi's versatility and influence in the music scene have led him to collaborate with renowned regional and international artists. A standout moment in his career was performing with global superstar Jason Mraz. Moreover, Awi made history as the first Asian male artiste to fully record two songs at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, an achievement that reflects his commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
In addition to his success as a performer and producer, Awi is deeply involved in nurturing young talent. As a Chief Vocal Instructor and Artiste Manager, he has mentored numerous up-and-coming musicians, helping to shape their careers and refine their artistry. She holds a Master Diploma in Classical Piano (FLCM) from the London College of Music, a Master Diploma IMAA, a Diploma in Music Education from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), and a UK Performance Diploma in Clarinet Interpretation from the Royal Academy of Music, London.
As a soloist, Josephine has performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Royal Government of Sarawak and at several prestigious State banquets in Sarawak. She has also represented Malaysia at the Silk Road World Music Festival in China, showcasing her exceptional musical talents on an international stage. Her work extends beyond performance; she is currently the Grading Director for the East Malaysia region of the United States International Appraisers Union.
Josephine’s influence in the music industry is further highlighted by her role as a judge for numerous high-profile competitions, including the Astro Hokkien Song Area Selection Contest, Malaysian TV Sarawak Singing Competition, Borneo Sambon Singing Competition, Asian Teochew Song Contest, and the Surabaya Mayor Cup Contest in Indonesia. With her expertise, she continues to inspire and elevate the next generation of musical talents.
